Hi, Scott & Ron

Thanks for your further suggestions, Scott. We’ll take a serious look at this for 2020. We have good suggestions and we have plaque money, so we just need to work out the details.

Ron, It’s just too close for this year to make changes to rules and scoring software.

So, do you guys have a route plan yet? Route info is slow coming in this year - I suppose the weather forecast may have something to do with that…

Tom, might I suggest doing what Minnesota does?

They have a plaque for single transmitter mobile. No operator limit. One op or multi op.(multi op is actually a disadvantage...takes valuable minutes to switch ops! 7 hour stretch is nothing for a single op to do .....

They also have a plaque for multi transmitter mobile.

Scott

Hi, Ron, Art, Scott –

Thanks for your email and sorry for my slow response.

We will consider adding plaques next year. We have offers to sponsor additional plaques (including yours – thanks!) and Multi-Op Mobile would be a good place to start. Our main concern has been that there’s sometimes not a lot of entries in this category, but a plaque would hopefully make it more attractive. Perhaps we’ll make it contingent on a minimum number of entries. Suggestions welcome.

Your team has obviously put a lot of effort into WIQP over recent years and it is greatly appreciated. And I’m glad to hear that all three of you will be on the team again this year! Best of luck, and I hope the weather doesn’t do what I’m seeing in forecasts. Sounds like snow and wind for much of the state.

Hi Tom,

Ron KK9K here.

Scott NE9U, Art N9BCA and I will again be going mobile as single tx multi-op.

I have never been able to understand why there is no plaque for us. We always have

the highest QSO count of all the mobiles which means we generate the most activity

of any mobile, yet all we get is an email certificate.

I would be more than happy to sponsor a plaque. Perhaps I could sponsor some other

plaque and the current sponsor of that one could sponsor the multi-op plaque.

I think we can make the case that we put more man-hours, effort and expense into the WIQP

than any other mobile operation.

Please consider initiating a plaque for our category.

I will be looking forward to your response.

73,

Ron Feutz, KK9K
