Then had a failure of my 80m Hamstick (10 years old and traveled eerywhere from WI to ME and KY to VA so I got my $14 worth out of it. So was out for a hair over an hour while I ran to WalMart and grabbed 100 feet of speaker wire and some plastic caribeaners to use as end insulators. Then back to my hotel room and a little quick build of a 75m dipole. I managed more contacts on 75m with the quickie built dipole than I did on either band on the hamsticks. Was able to use programmed memories in my radio to bag a few CW contacts. Also found out the hard way the snow between the hotel and Pizza Hut was a good bit deeper that I anticipated as I sunk to mid thigh while hanging the dipole. Hope the addition of Iowa County helped a few folks. 73 for now from Ohio!</div><div><br></div><div>Rob KB8UEY (W9I Iowa County)</div></span></div></body></html>
