Sounds like fun.  Here are my comments:

Set up your station ahead of the contest to make sure that everything works.   

Sometimes the 18v power inverter for the PC can make substantial noise, especially on the lower bands.  Check it out.

For set up, be safe.  Finding a place out of traffic where you will not be a distraction to cars driving by can be difficult if there is a lot of snow.  Its not a bad idea to do a dry run to the places you plan to stop at to make sure that they will work.  

Power lines.  Two comments.  In the rural areas they are often low.  When you get out of the car to set up your antenna the first thing you should do is to spot the power lines.   Second, they can be noisy.  In the WiQP I once found a nice safe spot to stop and operate that was next to a power sub-station.  It wasn't too bad on 20m but I could not hear a thing on 40 or 80m!
