Passing along information regarding Chip’s new spotting tool. A nice resource, especially for those wanting to keep spotting simple.

Subject: Simple QSO Party Spotting pages

With the CWfunspots spotting pages going away, I have begun to carry on their work in simple, no login requred, spotting pages. These new pages are located at http://qsopartyhub.com/index.html along with some other useful links to party home pages and contest calendars. I realize that you may have your own spotting tool, but if you could also let folks know that this resource exists, that would be great. The WIQP spotting page is http://qsopartyhub.com/wiqp-spots.php.

I am creating the page for each party in calendar order, so the first ones up are for the SC and NC parties this weekend. I unfortunately missed the first parties this year, but I am endeavoring to stay ahead of the rest of the year. The biggest effort is in creating the drop-down list for optional selection of county in the spot. TX will be a challenge!

The pages are responsive so they are functional with different screen sizes. Although a smaller smartphone is able to display the pages, it's probably not the best way to view the spots.

These are simple spotting lists for the casual contester or those who don't want to use a more complicated tool. Multiple spotting pages can be opened at the same time for those weekends with more than one party occurring. The windows can be resized as needed for the individual's situation.

The "hub" in the web address is intentional. It is not my intention to duplicate existing party web pages or other resources such as contest calendars. Think of this site as a directory kiosk that can show you where to find the information you want. On the links page, you will find links to calendars, other spotting tools, and the QSO parties recognized in the State QSO Party Challenge. If there are other links you think would be of use, let me know and we'll see about getting them on there.
